This is one of the oldest place of Tamilnadu which reveals the facts of Indus valley and iron age period through various rock paintings and rock carvings. The nearby district are vellore and Tiruvennamalai district in the east, Karnataka state to the west, Andhra pradesh in the north and Dharmapuri District in the south, Initially this diatrict was carved from dharmapuri district as the 30th district of the state. It has an area of 5142 sq. km and stands as the town of kirshnagiri district headquarters.

This is a famous temple located on a hillock amidstt hossur city. Next to it you have temples, Children Park and an observatory for picnic.
Thorapalli (10 km)
A Place to be remembered about the leader and legend – Rajaji who was born in this place. In his memory Throppalli has his memorial, which depicts his various walks of life through photo displays and his belongings.
Rayakottah (30 km)
It is were Birtish troops stationed till 1861. It is a hill fort, which was used as a strategy-planning place for British thore days while conquouring south India. This is a protected monument even today.
