Theni

          Famously known as the “Second Manchester of south India” Theni district is located at the foot of western ghats, an ideal location of natural beauty landscape and been spotted as a district from 1997 with an area of 3243.62 sq kms. It is bounded by Dindigul district on the north, East by Madurai district, south by virudhunagar district and on the west you have kerala states as its boundaries. As the district headquarters theni is renowned as a trade center for cotton, chilli, textile etc. with all its quality.

Vaigai Dam (14km)
          It is a popular picnic spot lies to the east of Theni district famously known as the “Little Brindavan” is a unique Dam with garden enthroned the area is a fantastic view, located by the majestic river vaigai in the Andipatti region.
Mavoothu
          It is a place of perennial water source and the main attraction here is the vellappar Temple.
Devadanapatti
         You have kamatchi Amman Temple as the main shrine for serenity.
Periyakulam (16 km)
          This is one of the oldest town of Tamilnadu over 2000 year old temple is popularly still exists here, the next important spot is sothupparai dam which is built across the varaha river. Mangoes of this town are very popular throughout the state.
Kumbakkari falls
           This is marvelous location for the tourist, which gives a breath taking view as the waters gush though the wild rugged rocks. These waters are full of good minerals and herbs, which is good enough to health is an experience here.
Veerapandi (8 km)
          This is another oldest village nearby Theni district. It does exist from the pandyan king veerapandi reign. This temple is a 14th century temple dedicated to goddessGowmarriamman.
Kuchanur (25 km)
          In this temple lord sani is present in splendid isolation bereft of the other planets known as kuchanooram.
Theertha thotti
          This is a popular pilgrim center located as a natural spring on the roads of madurai- Kochi national highway via theni – Bodinayakkanur. Lord subramanya Temple is here for the pilgrims to devote.
Suruli Falls
          Here, you have a temple for lord Kartikeya near the falls. Which is famously known as suruli Velappar Temple. The fall is exquisitely located amidst the dense forests, which gives a feel, jungle living to the tourist. The suruli falls; falls from a height of 150 feet is the attraction here. Kailasanathar Temple cave is also located here. Moreover a Dargah named after Abu barker masthan, a Muslim mystic who lived during 1630s is another important place of worship in suruli.
Meghamalai
          This is a place of nature flourish as the clouds pass by will never forgets to kiss the tip lips of these mountains, a rest a while spot to these busy clouds indeed. This meghamalai is famous for its tea estates and cardamom plantations and it is situated at an elevation of 1500 meters above sea level.
Velli Malai (6.5 km)
          Another natural landscape with nature filled beauty, a thick-forested location full of flora and fauna.
Bodinayakanoor
          It’s a place located near the foothills of Western Ghats. This town is famous for cardamom, mango and coffee market in trade, the nearest hill resort is Bodi Mettu situated by 26km from here.
Tiger falls
          Tiger galls is a dainty fall on the route to munnar.
