This is a small district of the state , which was announced to be the district in the year 1995. The place is located exact centre of Tamilnadu state. With an area of 3690.07s.q km. The district was separated from Trichy District. The near by districts at Cuddalore district in the north , Trichy district in the South , Tanjore district in the east and Namakkal in the West. This is an ancient temple a replica of Tanjore Big Temple.
