Tiruvallur

          It is a place, which spreads over an area of about 3422 sq.km. to the north of Chennai. This district was newly formed in the year 1997 from chengalpattu district. This town speaks of early history and reveals the rule of pallavas, the Golkondas, the Mughals, the French, the Dutch and also the British. As located in the northeast of Tamilnadu, this small district is surrounded by Kancheepuram district in the south, Vellore district in the west, Bay of Bengal in the east and Andha Pradesh state in the north. Tirvallur town in the district headquarters and is famously known for the veeraragava temple.

Tiruttani
          This is one of the six abodes of lord subramanaya. The temple is situated on a hillock where the follower has to climb up 365 steps to worship. Other important worship places are Devikarumariamman Temple in Tiruverkadu, Siva Temple-Tamaraipakkam, Murugan temple-ponneri, Vadivudaiamman Temple- Tiruvothiyur and Sri Bhawani Amman Temple-Periyapalayam. This place in surrounded with Hindustic thoughts and beliefs that adds more traditional values.
Poondi
          Here you have the huge reservoir named Sathyamurthy Sagar, an important place with a lot of picnic spots around by the suburbs near to it.
Pulicat Boating Center
          Can be called as the ‘blue lagoon’ of the state. It is the second largest backwater area of the east west of India, which lies to the north of Chennai city. It is protected as a wild life sanctuary because of its rich biodiversity and brackish- water eco-system. A wonderful spot to picnic with nature and birds.
Ambathur
         This is an industrial center and township situated on the Chennai- Avadi Trunk Road. There are two temples here.
Avadi
         This is another industrial location with ordnance factory, tank factory Army vehicle Depot belonging to the government of India.
Chembarambakkam
         This place has an oldest Siva temple now in a dilapidated condition exposes the age of this place. Today, this village has an irrigation tank, which derives supply from ancient across Cooum at koratur. Pazhayanur is a place of historical importance.
Poovirundavalli (poonamallae)
         This place has an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Varadaraja perumal with consort, Pushpakavalli thayar, and is also famously known as the birth place of thirukachi Naurki Alwar who was a starch devote of Varadaraja perumal.
